I am rereading this marvelous book by Travis Christofferson. Following in the footsteps of Warburg, Seyfried, and others, it illuminates a fascinating hypothesis that challenges one of medicine’s most established models, the somatic mutation theory as the basis of cancer. Perhaps this current scientific paradigm is wrong and instead of being primarily a disease of damaged DNA, cancer is a disease of defective metabolism.
